Studio Director Karen Kunst
Karen Kunst – also known as Kaz – founded KJK Interiors with a clear conviction that exceptional design should be as enjoyable to experience as it is to live in. With 9 years’ experience and a background spanning construction, renovation and interior design, she brings a rare breadth of technical knowledge to every project.
Holding a Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration, Karen works across residential and commercial projects of all scales – from full new builds and renovations to colour consulting and furniture styling. She is known for her confident use of texture, colour, form and for her ability to translate a client’s vision into spaces that feel both considered and completely personal.
Karen’s approach is grounded in transparency, clear communication, and meticulous attention to budget. Her clients trust her not just for her design instinct, but for the calm, honest guidance she brings to every stage of a project.
Karen is a registered member of QIDA, WIDAC and KBDI.

Interior Designer Kate Ryan
Kate Ryan graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Design in Interior Architecture, bringing a strong academic foundation in spatial planning, 3D visualisation and cabinetry design to the KJK studio.
Kate’s particular strength lies in the styling and furnishing phase of a project – the art of bringing a space to life through considered layering of furniture, textiles and accessories. Her sharp eye for detail and proportion means nothing is placed without purpose and the result always feels cohesive rather than curated.
Clients respond to Kate’s warm, collaborative nature and her ability to make the process feel effortless. Her fresh creative perspective adds real energy to every project she touches.
